Hello and welcome! My name is Linni and this is my online space where I write about my personal development goals and progress. I will also share my ideas on how you can make and achieve your goals and so you can feel empowered and live a conscious life.
What is Personal Development?
To me, personal development is all about living your best life. This means learning to be more aware of who you are as an individual, discovering your interests and life goals, and working toward these goals by crafting a reasonable plan.
You will benefit from personal development if you are:
- An aspiring paramedic in your mid-thirties who dropped out of high school.
- A student in your last year of a college degree who just realized you want to work in a different field.
- A person who always chooses the easy way in life without giving your actions another thought.
In all of these cases, it is much easier to just give up and settle. After all, changing things can take a long time and a lot of hard work.
Why Me? And Why Now?
I have always read self-help books for as long as I can remember. This soon changed to self-help blogs when I discovered them during my high school years. Through these sites, I learned how to become a better dresser, a savvy spender, an informed investor, and a ‘street-smart’ college student.
The story of the aspiring paramedic & high-school-dropout is one of my students’. And the story of the college student in their last year is my own. In both cases, learning how to develop yourself is the only way to take control of your life. There is no better time to do it than now.
My Goals & Projects
Currently, I am working on defining my adult identity (I am in my early-twenties), developing my professional career (I am an engineering student), and exploring alternative lifestyles (vegetarianism, minimalism, zero-waste). And like most college students, I am paying for my own tuition so I want to improve my bank balance without giving up too many life-experiences, like travelling.
Additionally, I am keeping a diary of my thoughts and life during my last year as a college student. I want to document this defining year full of life-changes and tough decisions. You can read the diary here.
